The world has 14 major peaks that are above 8,000 meters, and Pakistan is home to 5 of them. These include K2 (8,611 m), Nanga Parbat (8,125 m), Gasherbrum I (8,080 m), Broad Peak (8,051 m) and Gasherbrum II (8,035 m). The country has three world’s highest mountain ranges — Himalaya, Karakoram, and Hindukush. After the polar regions, Pakistan has some of the largest glaciers, such as Baltoro, Biafo, and Siachen.
The Indus River runs from the mountains to the sea and has supported life here for thousands of years. Pakistan’s land is shaped by the ancient Indus Valley Civilization, one of the world’s earliest advanced cultures.
Famous sites like Harappa and Mohenjo-daro show how old and developed this civilization was.
From the deserts of Thar and Cholistan to the blue Arabian Sea, Pakistan is full of natural beauty and history. The Arabian Sea keeps the coast warm in summer and mild in winter, and Pakistan has lovely beaches like Clifton, Hawksbay, French Beach, Kund Malir, and Gwadar.
